Starter Motor
Dates given for changes of specification are approximate only.
Inertia starters have a long shaft with a spring on the end so that the pinion engages from the back of the flywheel.
Inertia starters are normally much heavier and larger than pre-engaged starters.
8, 9 and 10 Tooth refers to the number of teeth on the starter pinion or mm dimensions refer to the starter pinion diameter.
